🌎 About the Role:
Pave Talent is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join an industry-leading personal care contract manufacturer. This position is on-site in Ottawa, Illinois and will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and global regulations, particularly in light of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MOCRA). This is a unique opportunity to impact regulatory strategy in a company specializing in hair care, skincare, and OTC (Over-the-Counter) products.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the creation and maintenance of regulatory files, supporting product safety and compliance with FDA, EPA, and emerging state regulations (e.g., California’s Prop 65, 1,4-Dioxane in NY, lead limits in WA).
- Labeling and Ingredient Management: Ensure compliance in labeling and quantitative quality formulas (QQFs), and manage ingredient lists, adhering to MOCRA and other federal/state standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and external partners to align on regulatory strategies and stay current with changing guidelines.
- FDA Filings: Prepare and submit regulatory filings for new OTC and cosmetic products to facilitate market entry and updates.
🎓 Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-4 years in regulatory compliance within personal care, OTC, or cosmetics industries. Medical or pharmaceutical experience will not substitute for this industry-specific background.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in MOCRA, FDA regulations, EPA standards, and compliance processes related to non-GMO projects, vegan certifications, and leaping bunny certifications.
- Software Proficiency: High-level Microsoft Office skills required; familiarity with regulatory tools such as Works software is a plus.

💰 Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: Competitive, capped at $100,000 based on experience and qualifications.
